Angel Wings

This is trick for parents, but I can't seem to remember where I got this idea. I thought it was a great idea and McKenzie loves it.

When giving your kids a juice box, raise the triangle pieces to give your kid a place to hold the box so that they do not squeeze the box and spill the juice out of the straw. This trick as worked wonders and McKenzie thinks it is cool to have angel wings on her juice box.

Baked Spaghetti Pie

I've been meaning to post this for a while, I just kept forgetting to get the recipe out of the kitchen. This came from E-mealz.com. This is a great site for anyone who needs menu help and is on a budget.

Baked Spaghetti Pie

1 lb ground round, cooked, drained
2 c pasta sauce
8 oz spaghetti, cooked
2 T olive oil
2 eggs beaten
1/2 c shredded parmesan
1/2 c cottage cheese
1-2 c shredded mozzarella cheese

Combine cooked beef with pasta sauce and heat over med. Cook spaghetti according to pkg directions. Toss cooked spaghetti with oil, eggs, and parmesan cheese. Pour spaghetti mixture into greased pie plate or 2 qt dish to form a crust. Spread cottage cheese over crust. Spread meat sauce over cheese. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Top with mozzarella cheese and bake 5 more minutes. Cool 5 minutes.

This is a family favorite - I hope you enjoy this as much as we do.

Camera Shy? I think not!

McKenzie and I went outside the other day because she wanted to play in the water. Before going outside, she wanted me to take the camera out with us. I did take the camera and after I sat down, McKenzie asked me to take pictures of her and she began to pose. Here are the pictures of her posing.

Road Trip

Here are some pictures from our road trip to Houston for a surprise visit for Mother's Day. McKenzie loves to make silly faces. For a 10 hour trip, McKenzie did really well.

Grammy was not expecting to see us so up at her door. McKenzie was excited about going to the door and getting to ring the door bell. That is one of her favorite things to do now.

Family History

I have begun the process of archiving family history. I have started with Nana's pictures and documents by scanning them on the computer. This process has made me realize that I need to make sure that I make notes on my current pictures, even if they are in a electronic format.

I have uploaded the albums and files that I have already completed on Picasa. I have not gone back and put all of the notes on the pictures at this time. I am slowly getting to that part. I'm so Proud of you Mommy!

It is so true that kids practice what they see. As we are working on potty training, when McKenzie goes potty, I tell her how proud I am of her and she gets a sticker and gummy bears. Well, now when she knows that I go to the bathroom she runs up to me and gives me a great big hug and she tells me how proud she is of me. All you can do is laugh.

You Will Be Missed

On December 28, 2008, Nana passed away. We are glad that we were able to see her one last time before she passed away. She will be missed. Here are some pictures from our last gathering on December 26th an 27th.

Christmas 2008

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas. We had a good Christmas. We left Canyon about 8 pm on Christmas Eve and made it to Houston by 6 am on Christmas morning. After James and I took a nap, we opened presents.

McKenzie loved opening presents, but she really had fun playing Santa's little elf.

On Friday, Nana, Jill, Scott and Betty came to see us a do Christmas with us. Uncle Scott got McKenzie a tea set, which she thinks is one of the best things in the world.

I pray that everyone's year is off to a wonderful start.
